I was born and then I lived and then I died. Some stuff happened in the middle there but I wanted to just stick to the highlights.

You're welcome!  I saw a pic of your knitted Captain America cosplay on reddit and thankfully someone credited you.  I thought it was such a creative and original take on cosplay and based on that decided to add you to my watch list.

Appropos of nothing I'd simply like to say what an interesting time we live in.  Terrorists used to be people who set off bombs and killed innocent people.  Now a terrorist is anyone who attempts to logically argue against a claim while avoiding personal attacks.

If you're interested in reading what was actually written, you can.…

You called all feminists Nazi murderers.

I don't think you get to claim to be logical or to say you avoided personal attacks.

There is a difference between looking at a line of reasoning and following where it leads, on the one hand, and attacking a person's character.  I accused my discussion partner of anything nor did I try to divine her beliefs in order to attack her.

I did comment that to the extent that the feminist movement demands the ability to kill children on demand in order to be truly free from oppression, it cannot claim that it has murdered no one to achieve its aims.

I also commented that this same rhetorical move has been used for centuries to justify murder--by the nazis, by the russian revolutionaries in 1905, by terrorists today.  The move is to elevate an idea that everybody loves--freedom, equality--above the value of a human life.  It helps if you can rhetorically transform that which must be killed into something inhuman.  If you think I'm wrong, look at war propaganda.

There are obvious counters to the argument.  1.  Prove the fetus is a person.   I went around that one by calling it a rhetorical game.  So the next step is to say:  2. The pro-life movement humanizes the fetus to take power away from women.

Instead of actually countering my ideas, fallacies and shaming were the tactics used.  I am left wondering if they teach reasoning in the schools anymore.

Internet bullies who hate it when someone doesn't fall in line use the same rhetorical moves of tyrants in order to justify harassment, doxxing, intimidation, death threats, etc.  First they have to turn Zoe Quinn or Anita Sarkeesian into something less than a person, because that will make it okay to attack them.  Then they must make sure that that person's ideas are removed from the public sphere--thankfully they did not succeed.  Unfortunately, a similar thing happened involving a Seattle based cartoonist who drew a cartoon mocking people for participating in Draw Mohammed Day.  Her cartoon was deemed blasphemous by hardline Muslim and serious death threats began.  The FBI disappeared her to protect her.  She had to give up her identity and go into hiding.

The objective is real or imaginary murder--making someone, and their upsetting ideas, or upsetting body, disappear.

Just because you don't like what I am saying doesn't make it a personal attack because I never specifically attacked the character of my interlocutor.  At any time she could have corrected my argument about feminism's core values.  Instead, she resorted to fallacious reasoning to try to shame me and silence me.

I welcome disagreement, but I request that you make an effort to represent my position fairly and without turning it into a straw man.  I also request that we leave name-calling out of it and engage with the ideas themselves.

So you assert that any union of egg and sperm is a human being and birth control is murder.  You back this up, not with any support, but your main argument seems to be that dead fetuses are gross.  Then you say that anyone who says otherwise is a Nazi.

I see no personal attacks made by her against you and you called her a murderer quite a few times.  Where I live, that's a pretty obvious threat that you want the state to put her to death or at least throw her in prison.

And you realize that she posted that image in the first place because "Men's Rights Activists" were sending her death threats.

And while you were very comfortable telling her on her Da page that she's a murderer for supporting feminism, you immediately blocked her when the conversation moved to your page.

Thin skin, indeed.
